Bass Cover Video & Tabs | Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers

I'm a fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers mainly because of the bass guitarist, Mr. Flea. He's one of the best bass guitar player ever, in my opinion. Check out the bass lines in these songs: Soul to Squeeze, Give It Away and Under the Bridge. These songs are my most favorite RHCP songs.
Watch my bass cover youtube video of Give It Away plus the tab I used. This tab is my own interpretation of the song and anyone is free to use it on their own but don't harass me if there are mistakes, hehe...

Lyrics : Give It Away (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

Ah! Ah!

What I've got you've got to give it to your mamma
What I've got you've got to give it to your pappa
What I've got you've got to give it to your daughter
You do a little dance and then you drink a little water

What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
Reeling with the feeling dont stop continue

I realize I don't want to be a miser
Confide wisely you'll be the wiser
Young blood is the lovin' upriser
How come everybody wanna keep it like the kaiser

Give it away, give it away, give it away now (3x)
I cant tell if Im a king pin or a pauper

Greedy little people in a sea of distress
Keep your more to receive your less
Unimpressed by material excess
Love is free love me say hell yes

I'm a low brow but I rock a little know how
No time for the piggies or the hoosegow
Get smart get down with the pow wow
Never been a better time than right now

Bob marley poet and a prophet
Bob marley taught how to off it
Bob marley walkin' like he talk it
Goodness me can't you see Im gonna cough it

Give it away give it away give it away now (3x)
Ooh... ooh yeah

Give it away give it away give it away now (3x)
I cant tell if Im a king pin or a pauper

Lucky me swimmin' in my ability
Dancin down on life with agility
Come and drink it up from my fertility
Blessed with a bucket of lucky mobility

My mom I love her 'cause she love' me
Long gone are the times when she scrub' me
Feelin' good my brother gonna hug me
Drink my juice lone chug-a-lug me

Theres a river born to be a giver
Keep you warm won't let you shiver
His heart is never gonna wither
Come on everybody time to deliver

Give it away give it away give it away now (3x)
I cant tell if Im a king pin or a pauper

What I've got you've got to give it to your mamma
What I've got you've got to give it to your pappa
What I've got you've got to give it to your daughter
You do a little dance and then you drink a little water

What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
What I've got you've got to get it put it in you
Reeling with the feeling dont stop continue

I realize I dont want to be a miser
Confide wisely youll be the wiser
Young blood is the lovin upriser
How come everybody wanna keep it like the kaiser

Give it away now (till song end)

Lake of Fire - Final Audio Sample of the Home Recording

As a conclusion to my project of a series of recording my own version of a Nirvana track from their MTV Unplugged Live in New York album, Lake of Fire, included with this is my final audio sample of the recordings. The samplitude audio recording software is used to sample and edit the audio tracks and finally, mastered it. However, as far as I am concern, and as what I've been saying before, I am not a professional guy in this kind of things, I just love to record, edit and then listen to what I'd just done, and if it's good to my ear, I'll post it here. Anyway, this is my blog and no one can stop me, hehe, except if I done illegal things, such as (what?)...
Anyway, here is the audio sample. Hope you like it and, maybe, we can get together recording our own songs through the power of the internet, hehe. Ciao.

How to Celebrate Kurt Cobain's Birthday?

Well, i found this article when lazily surfing the internet. It's a list of the crazy ideas you can do to celebrate Kurt Cobain's birthday if you are his die-hard fan, hehe. But to all other music lovers out there, you can appreciate him by playing his songs in any other days. Look deeper into the lyrics, if you can, I'm sure you'll get something helpful for you. Something helpful from a man who killed himself, hehe. But, really, his songs are thought-provoking especially when you learned the story behind his songs.

But me, how will I celebrate his birthday? I'll do the following:
1. Write this blog post and the previous post...
2. Sing his songs while playing my electric guitar...
3. Listen to my Nirvana MP3's...
4. Watch my Nirvana video DVD's...
5. Reminisce my younger days playing gigs with Nirvana songs, hehe...

How about you?

Remembering Kurt Cobain on his Birthday, Feb. 20

Today is Kurt Cobain's birthday. BTW, who is he anyway? He was the frontman of one of the best grunge band in history, NIRVANA. Well, I think he started the grunge rock band (sort of punk rock, I believe) during the late 80's and early 90's.

He was born Kurt Donald Cobain Feb. 20, 1967 in Hoquiam, Washington and began developing interest in music at the early age of two years. (9) Love you forever and forever. He was a fan of Beatles (me too) and his favourite song was Hey Jude. His life changed at the age of seven with the divorce of his parents. He began to hate the world (most youth of today feel this way, dunno why). But at the age of 14, he had his first guitar and learned very hard to perfect and master his style. He began to "jam" with other local youth band and met Krist Novoselic on the way. Formed a band, NIRVANA. They rotated with some other musicians and found Dave Grohl as the perfect drummer. And the rest is history. He killed himself (many of his fans don't accept this) by blowing his head off with a shotgun on April 5, 1994.

On this post, I don't want to remember Kurt Cobain with his biography, you'll be able to find it anyway through internet. Rather, I would like to remember him as one of my musical influences. My influences are the Beatles, Nirvana, Metallica, Rock & Roll and 90's rock band, mainly because I learned guitar and "basics" of music with Beatles songs and Rock & Roll, I was in my adolescent and early adulthood during 90's and played mostly Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Guns & Roses, etc. But Nirvana influenced me the most, especially on Kurt's guitar playing skills and his lyrics. I'm very amazed till now how he sang with that "magical voice" (just shut up with the descriptions I used, hehe) and played his electric guitar so skillfully. I even like how he trashed his guitars and things on stage after every concerts, hehe. Musically, he wrote his own songs and melodies, and created most of their song's arrangements. If you want to really know just how musically capable Kurt Cobain is, just listen to these songs (my favourites):

1. Heart-Shaped Box (In Utero, 1993) - MTV Video Music Award in Best Alternative Video and Best Art Direction (1994)
2. Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nevermind, 1991) - MTV Video Music Award in Best New Artist and Best Alternative Group (1992), Dubbed as Anthem for Apathetic Kids of Generation X, most critically acclaimed song
3. All Apologies (In Utero, 1993) - Nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, 1995
4. Serve the Servants (In Utero, 1993)
5. Polly (Nevermind, 1991) - a very sad song
6. Scentless Aprrentice (In Utero, 1993) - great arrangement
7. Floyd the Barber - (Bleach, 1989) - creepy song
8. Sliver (Incesticide, 1992) - happy but sad song (wtf)
9. Negative Creep (Bleach, 1989) - self-hatred song
10. Oh, Me (Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York) - cover of Meat Puppet's song from their Meat Puppets II album. A self-searching song.

As an amateur musician, I just hope that Kurt Cobain's influence in music lives on. Happy Birthday, Kurt.

Lake of Fire - Guitar Solo Tablature

I would like to include this tab for the guitar solo part so you might as well try it for yourself. Although I am perfectly sure of "myself" that this tab is correct, I cannot guarantee it for you, hehe. Well, you just have to listen and try the tab and then decide. You might as well try some other things for yourself like changing the solo part, the guitar riff, etc. Just remember that music is good if someone, even one person or you, is listening, hehe. Try the tab and play along. If you want a copy of the audio tracks for the drums, bass and guitars that I recorded, feel free to email me. Happy jamming, guys!!!

Lake of Fire - Recording the Lead Guitar and Solos

Well, here we are. The final leg of the recording process of my project, Lake of Fire cover from Nirvana's MTV Unplugged in New York album tracks. In the previous posts, I have already recorded the drums track, bass guitar track and the two backing guitar tracks, and I've posted them with videos of the recording process. After recording this Lead Guitar and Solos track, the only thing left is mastering the tracks. It is where I will process, tweak or polish the tracks with plugins included with my Samplitude audio recording software.
Here is the video...
